Ten University business students are spending part of their winter session this year in Australia, as the first cohort to participate in a “J-Term” program of academic study and cultural experiences. The students arrived in Sydney in time to take in the New Year’s celebrations, including the spectacular fireworks atop the Sydney Harbour Bridge, and will return to Springfield for the start of the spring semester on January 14. All students are enrolled in a two-week course, “International Business in Asia Pacific,” delivered through Global Academic Ventures, a Sydney-based academic travel service provider. The three-credit course consists of 45 contact hours including faculty-led seminars, guest lectures from business executives, site visits, case studies, and group projects.
